Police arraign filling station attendant for stealing N4.6 million

The police on Tuesday arraigned a 32-year-old filling station attendant, Olayemi Abidemi, before the Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, over an alleged theft of N4.6 million.
Mr Abidemi, an employee of Decentkem Petrol Station, Toll Gate, Ibadan, was charged with stealing, to which he pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Elisha Tellang, told the court that the defendant committed the offence sometime in September and November at the filling station.
Mr Tellang alleged that the defendant stole N4 million and 600 litres of diesel valued at N600,000, belonging to the petrol station.
The magistrate, Moyosore Atanda, granted the defendant bail of N1 million with two sureties in like sum.
She held that the sureties must be blood relations of the defendant and adjourned the case until January 26, 2026, for hearing.
