Police arraign man, 24, for allegedly receiving stolen TV

The police on Thursday arraigned a 24-year-old man, Fodilu Olagoke, before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, Oyo State, for allegedly receiving stolen television set.
The defendant, whose house address was not provided, is being charged with receipt of a stolen property.
He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Prosecutor, ASP Foluke Adedosu, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Sept. 30, at about 2.30 p.m, at Agbowo area, Ibadan.
Ms Adedosu said the defendant allegedly received one Samsung TV worth N50, 000 from one Ibrahim Olalere, knowing same to have been stolen.
She said the offence contravened Section 427 of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The Magistrate, M. Olagbenro, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100, 000 with one surety in like sum.
Mrs Olagbenro adjourned the case until December 9, for hearing.
