Police arraign man for battering, threatening wife

The defendant, whose address was not stated, is charged on a four-count charge bordering on battery, threat to life, stealing, and willful damage.
He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The prosecutor, ASP Aminu Isaac, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on November 12 at Mini Shawarma Junction in the radio area of Ikorodu.
He alleged that the defendant threatened to harm his wife, Mistura Baruwa, a nominal complainant.

The offences contravene the provisions of sections 56, 172, 287, and 350 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The chief magistrate, B.A. Sonuga, granted the defendant a N1 million bail, with two sureties in like sum.
