Police arraign two for stealing generator

On Monday, the Kano Sharia Court remanded two men, Ahmad Umar, 20, and Umar Auwal, 23, in a correctional facility for allegedly stealing an electric generator valued at N80,000.
The police charged the defendants with criminal conspiracy and theft.
Earlier, the prosecution counsel, Abdullahi Wada, told the court that the complainant, Sulaiman Magaji, reported the matter at Mandawari police station on January 10.
Mr Wada stated that the defendants conspired and stole from his compound one electric generator valued at N80,000 belonging to the complainant.
The defendants pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The judge, Umar Lawal-Abubakar, ordered the defendants to be remanded in Goron Dutse Correctional Centre and adjourned the case until January 30, for mention.
