Police arraign two for stealing trailer battery in Ibadan

The police on Friday charged two men, Akin Oyewole and Daniel Olasunkanmi, before the Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan, for allegedly stealing a trailer battery.
Messrs Oyewole, 30, and Olasunkanmi, 27, were charged on two counts of conspiracy and stealing.
They each pleaded guilty to the charge.
The prosecutor, Insp. Kemi Oladapo told the court that the defendants committed the offence on November 13 at about 2:00 a.m. at Adebam Company in Odo-Ona Kekere, Ibadan.
She alleged that the defendants conspired to steal a trailer battery worth N150,000, belonging to the company.
According to the prosecutor, the defendants were eventually arrested following a police investigation.
The offence contravenes the provisions of sections 390(9) and 516 of the Criminal Law of Oyo State, 2000.
In view of the guilty pleas by the defendants, the prosecutor asked the court for a short date to enable her to prepare for a review of facts.
The magistrate, Oluwabusayo Osho, consequently adjourned the case until November 19 for review of the facts.
She consequently ordered a remand of the defendants at the correctional service.
