Police arrest four alleged kidnappers, recover weapons in Delta

The police command in Delta State said it arrested four robbery and kidnap suspects at Jeddo Community, Okpe Local Government Area of the state.
The command’s spokesperson, SP Bright Edafe, disclosed this to journalists on Thursday in Warri.
Mr Edafe said that the suspects were arrested on Sunday by operatives attached to the Ekpan Division in Uvwie LGA of the state.
He said that the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) for the division , CSP Aliyu Shaba, led policemen on the operation, while acting on credible information.
He stated, “The DPO, while acting on credible intelligence on the activities of kidnappers and armed robbers within Jeddo axis of Okpe LGA, led operatives of Ekpan Police Station and arrested the four suspects. The suspect, upon preliminary investigation, led the policemen to their hideout at Jeddo community. A search warrant was executed on the premises and one automatic English pump action gun, two locally-made single barrel guns, one locally fabricated Beretta pistol, one locally made cut-to-size gun and a live cartridge were recovered,” he said.
Mr Edafe said that the suspects and exhibits were in police custody, adding that investigation into the matter was ongoing.
