Police arrest Rivers PDP governorship aspirant

A Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant in Rivers State, Farah Dagogo, has been arrested by a team of policemen on Thursday evening.
His arrest took place at the PDP zonal secretariat.
Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, had in a statement by his media aide, Kelvin Ebiri, on Wednesday called for the arrest of Mr Dagogo.
Mr Wike alleged that Mr Dagogo was responsible for the disruption of the party’s screening process for National Assembly and State House of Assembly aspirants by suspected cultists.
Mr Dagogo had since denied the allegation.
Heavily armed security operatives accosted Mr Dagogo shortly after he arrived the PDP screening centre Thursday evening.
The operatives led him out of the venue into a waiting patrol van with the inscription ‘Operation C4i-027’.
The patrol van immediately made a quick turn, as a handful of uniformed men jumped at the back and the driver zoomed off.
