Police arrest suspected cultist in Lagos, recover locally made pistol

The Lagos State police command says it arrested a suspected member of the Eiye Confraternity and recovered one locally made single-barrel pistol in Mushin.
A statement on Friday by Abimbola Adebisi, the command’s spokesperson, said the arrest was made following credible information on cult-related activities at Ogunmokun Under-Bridge, Mushin.
She said the operatives immediately mobilised a surveillance team to the area and arrested 24-year-old Segun Alani.
“A search of the bag in his possession led to the recovery of one locally made single-barrel pistol, which was concealed inside the bag,” Ms Adebisi said.
She added that the suspect is currently in police custody and providing useful information to aid the investigation.
