Police arrest three suspected kidnappers in Edo

The Edo State Police command has arrested three suspected kidnappers in Jattu village for alleged kidnapping and other violent crimes in the state.
The command spokesperson, Eno Ikoedem, in a statement on Tuesday, said the suspects were arrested on May 15, 2026 at about 5:50 p.m.
“On the 15th May, 2026, at about 1750hrs, the Divisional Police Officer, Jattu Division, received credible information that one of the suspected kidnapper of one Ibrahim Jemila ‘f’, who was abducted and later released on 13th May, 2026, had been sighted at Jattu Market,” she said.
Ms Ikoedem said operatives of the division swiftly mobilised alongside members of the Edo State Security Corps to the location.
The suspects were identified as Nura Dahiru, 22; Ibrahim Yakubu, 25; and Abubakar Inusa, 23.
She stated that during investigation, two of the suspects, Mr Dahiru and Mr Yakubu were positively identified by Mr Jemila and another victim as members of the kidnapping gang responsible for their abduction.
