Police arrest two suspected kidnappers in Kwara

The police command in Kwara has arrested two men for their alleged roles in facilitating the kidnapping of three persons in the Ifelodun Local Government Area of the state.
The command, in a statement on Friday by its spokesperson, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, said the arrest came amid intensified efforts to crack down on kidnappers and other criminal elements in the state.
The suspects were identified as Sauni Shehu and Auwalu Bala.
“Their arrest followed discreet intelligence-led investigations that linked them to the abduction of three victims at Ogele Fulani Camp, via Igbaja, Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State,” Ms Ejire-Adeyemi stated.
Noting that the suspects were currently assisting the command with useful information, the police spokesperson said efforts had been intensified to identify and apprehend other members of the syndicate.
Police commissioner Adekimi Ojo urged members of the public to continue supporting the police with timely, credible, and actionable information.
Mr Ojo assured that the intelligence received would be professionally harnessed to strengthen ongoing efforts at combating kidnapping and other violent crimes across the state.
