Police assure customs of close collaboration in Enugu

Commissioner of Police in Enugu State, Kanayo Uzuegbu, on Friday assured the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) of close collaboration and synergy.
He gave the assurance when he received visiting customs controller Comfort Ukpanah, the newly deployed area controller for Anambra, Ebonyi and Enugu command of the NCS.
Mr Uzuegbu assured her of the police’s continued willingness to foster close and productive interagency cooperation with the Customs Service in Enugu State.
“The command’s door will always be open for a mutually beneficial working relationship with the Customs Service at any time,’’ he said.
Earlier, Ms Ukpanah said the essence of the visit was to formally familiarise herself and solicit for strengthening existing interagency collaboration between the Customs Service and the police.
She noted that a stronger collaborative working relationship would help both agencies achieve their statutory mandates, particularly concerning national security.
