Police assure Kano, Jigawa residents of adequate protection

The Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) in charge of Zone 1 Headquarters, Kano, Ahmed Garba, has reaffirmed the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to protecting lives and property.
This is contained in a statement issued by the zone’s spokesman, CSP Bashir Mohammed, in Kano on Tuesday.
Mr Garba made the statement while convening a strategic meeting with tactical and intelligence commanders from Kano and Jigawa states’ commands.
The meeting was convened to review the recent surge in banditry in parts of Kano and to chart a coordinated response.
The commanders discussed ways to strengthen ongoing security operations and agreed on measures that would complement the deployment of additional police personnel from the Kano State command, alongside military units already stationed in the affected communities.
Mr Garba urged the residents to cooperate with the security agencies by providing credible information to support the efforts to curb banditry and other criminal activities.
He reassured the citizens of Kano State and Jigawa of the zone’s unwavering dedication to their safety and the restoration of peace in the troubled areas.
The AIG further advised the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the nearest security formation.
