Police confirm abduction of four persons in Ebonyi community

The Ebonyi Police Command says four indigenes of the Akpoha autonomous community in the Afikpo Local Government have been abducted by yet-to-be-identified persons on their farms.
The police public relations officer (PPRO), SP Joshua Ukandu, said the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of the Afikpo Division confirmed the incident on Thursday.
Mr Ukandu said the DPO confirmed that the victims were abducted on July 24 from their farms, and the police were yet to establish the culprits.
“When I called the DPO to confirm the information, he told me that they had visited the scene of the incident to ascertain what had happened and to find out more about the situation.
“The division has commenced an investigation and search for the rescue of the victims by collaborating with the community leaders, traditional leaders, to unravel the reason behind the abduction.
”The command will reveal more details when the investigation is concluded on the matter,” Mr Ukandu said.
