Police deploy joint security for safe Sallah celebrations in Kano

The police command in Kano State has deployed additional joint security operatives to various prayer grounds, parks, and other public places to ensure smooth and secure Sallah celebrations in the state.
This is contained in a statement by the command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Abdullahi Kiyawa, in Kano on Saturday.
Mr Kiyawa said all hands were on deck to monitor activities during the festival and respond swiftly to any incidents that might arise.
He urged residents to celebrate responsibly and embrace the spirit of unity, love, and tolerance that Eid-el-Fitr symbolised.
He further stated that the command, in collaboration with other security agencies in the state, had conducted a comprehensive Show of Force on Friday to ensure a peaceful and secure environment for the Sallah celebrations.
Mr Kiyawa noted, “The operation, which took place in various strategic locations across the state, showcased the readiness and commitment of the police, in conjunction with other security agencies, to maintain law and order during the festive period.
“The Show of Force involved the police, military, SSS, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Nigeria Immigration Service, Nigeria Customs Service, Nigeria Correctional Service, National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency and the Federal Road Safety Corps. This show of force underscores our dedication to ensuring public safety and fostering an environment where all individuals can enjoy the festivities in tranquillity.”
The command urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the nearest security outfit.
The command emphasised the importance of community cooperation in maintaining peace and security, especially during festive occasions.
