Police destroy drug lab in Eastern Afghanistan
Police have discovered and destroyed a drug processing lab in eastern Afghanistan’s Paktia province, the provincial police office said on Tuesday.
Based on intelligence, counter-narcotics police raided the Shir Khatal area in the Jaji Aryub district and discovered a drug lab involved in hashish processing.
The office added that police also found a huge quantity of hashish at the site and destroyed the drug.
The Afghan government has outlawed the cultivation of illegal crops, including hashish and opium poppy, and drug processing and trafficking as part of its efforts to eradicate the drug menace in the country.
