He said, “The incident was reported on Thursday that one Mr Durowaiye Folorunsho was allegedly attacked and killed on his farm by unknown assailants. The Commissioner of Police, Miller Dantawaye, has ordered a discreet investigation into the killing, with a view to bringing the perpetrators to book.’’

He said the command was working diligently to ensure that justice was served and that the perpetrators were apprehended to face the full weight of the law.

Meanwhile, the Kogi State government has condemned the killing.

This is contained in a statement in Lokoja by the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Fanwo.

Mr Fanwo extended the government’s heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased, the people of Ayetoro Kiri, and the entire Kabba/Bunu LGA.

He said that Governor Ahmed Ododo had directed relevant security agencies to immediately intensify efforts to apprehend those responsible for the heinous act.

“The governor has also mandated a thorough and expedited investigation to ensure justice is served. The state security adviser has also been instructed to beef up security around Ayetoro Kiri and neighbouring areas to protect residents and prevent recurrence of such incidents,” Mr Fanwo said.
