Police in Lagos, Ogun begin joint patrol on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway

The police in Lagos and Ogun have begun a joint patrol on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway to improve security in the area.
The command’s spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin, disclosed in a post he shared on his X handle @benHundeyin on Thursday.
Recall that cases of kidnap incidents and other crimes had been reported on some parts of the expressway.
Mr Hundeyin said the joint patrols would cover the Kara Bridge to Sagamu interchange.
“As part of efforts to enhance security on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, the police command in Lagos state and its Ogun counterpart have commenced joint patrols of Kara bridge to Sagamu interchange.
“The patrol teams from the Lagos command will comprise mainly the Rapid Response Squad (RRS),” he said.
Mr Hundeyin appealed to motorists not to be scared by the heavy presence of police patrol on the road.
“Motorists are, therefore, enjoined not to panic at the sight of increased police patrols, particularly the RRS.
“This is a proactive measure to prevent crime and criminality on this stretch of the road,” he said.
