Police launch probe as Abuja missing Corper found

The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has said a corps member and lawyer, Linda Ameh, declared missing on Friday 8 May, has been found in Abuja.
In a statement on Sunday, the spokesperson for the FCT Police Command, SP Josephine Adeh, said Ms Ameh reported to the Maitama Police Station to provide details of her disappearance.
Ms Adeh said, “The FCT Police Command wishes to inform the public that Ms. Linda Ameh, the legal practitioner earlier reported missing on 6th May 2026, has been found and personally reported to the Maitama Police Station to provide details of the incident.”
Though details of the cause of her disappearance were not revealed, the police said it had launched a probe to apprehend behind her disappearance since May 6.
“The command further states that investigations are ongoing to apprehend those responsible for the crime, while Ms. Ameh is assisting the police with useful information to aid ongoing investigative efforts and ensure the perpetrators are apprehended,” the police added.
Ms Ameh undergoing the one-year mandatory national youth service in Abuja went missing last Wednesday after leaving her workplace.
The corps member works as a sales manager with Blades and Butchers Ltd., a company involved in the sale of livestock and related value-added products, located on Lake Chad Crescent in Maitama.
Ms Ameh, who reside at a corpers’ lodge in the Life Camp area of Abuja, resumed work at the company about two weeks before her disappearance.
