Police nab 10 suspects, recover two stolen vehicles, other items in Jigawa

The Jigawa State police command has arrested 10 suspected thieves, recovered two stolen motor vehicles, and other items including one million naira during coordinated operations conducted in Taura, Malam Madori, Hadejia, Birniwa, Kirikasamma, and Kaugama Local Government areas.
A statement on Thursday by the command’s spokesperson, Lawan Shiisu Adam, said the arrest followed credible intelligence, prompt reports, and routine patrols.
He said that the raid was carried out along with a vigilance group.
“During the operations, two motor vehicles, six cows, a motorcycle, sheep, a handset, three thousand one hundred fake United States dollars, electric cable wires, and money worth one million one hundred thousand naira were recovered,” Mr Adam said.
The suspects were identified as Muntari Ibrahim, 25, Gidan Naruwa Settlement, Taura LGA; Bura Manu, 35, Basiru Abubakar, 27, Gashua, of Bade LGA, Yobe State, Hussaini Umar, 24 of Potiskum LGA, Yobe State and Ismail Abdullahi alias Audun Balliya, 41 of Buraburun Nguru LGA, Yobe State.
Others included Sadik Mahmud, 19 of Kaugama Township; Buhari Yusuf alias Manjo, of Kaugama LGA; Usman Ahmad, 35 of Hadejia; Muhammed Abdu, 40 and Muhammad Buba 35 of Zagari village.
He stated that Mr Umar allegedly defrauded someone of N2,661,000.00 on the pretence of providing U.S. dollars and also sent a fake credit alert of N23,570,000.00 into his account.
Mr Adam said investigation was ongoing to identify and apprehend other fleeing members of the criminal groups.
He added that the arrested suspects would be charged in court upon the conclusion of investigations.
