Police nab nine suspected criminals in Gombe

The police have apprehended nine suspects for various crimes in Gombe state.
The spokesman of the command, DSP Buhari Abdullahi, stated this in a statement on Friday in Gombe.
He said that operatives of the Anti-Violence Squad arrested two suspects (names withheld) for alleged possession of cannabis at Tumfure area of Gombe metropolis.
Mr Abdullahi said the police recovered 76 parcels of cannabis following a routine patrol aimed at ensuring public safety and combating criminal activities in the state.
The spokesperson further said the operatives apprehended seven other suspects for alleged criminal conspiracy, robbery and intimidation.
He said the suspects would be charged to court on completion of investigations.
While reiterating commitment to combat crimes and rid the state of illicit drugs, Mr Abdullahi urged residents to be vigilant and report suspicious activities to the police.
