Police nab suspect for allegedly robbing Enugu PoS operator N70,000

The Enugu State Police Command has detained an alleged armed robbery suspect, Chinweuba Edeh, for allegedly robbing a Point of Sale (PoS) operator of ₦70,000.
This is contained in a statement issued by the command’s Spokesman, SP Daniel Ndukwe in Enugu on Tuesday.
Mr Ndukwe said that the 42-year-old suspect was detained on October 17 at about 6:40a.m. by police operatives serving in Nkanu West (Agbani) Police Division, following a swift response to a distress call from a female victim.
According to him, the victim reported that the suspect robbed her at gunpoint at Orie-Mba Akpugo Market in Akpugo community of Nkanu West Local Government Area of the state.
“A locally made double-barrelled pistol loaded with two live cartridges was recovered from the suspect. The suspect will be arraigned in court upon the conclusion of investigations,” he said.
Mr Ndukwe said that the state’s Commissioner of Police, Mamman Giwa, reaffirmed his commitment to sustaining the ongoing onslaught against unrepentant criminals, including those involved in violent crimes.
The spokesman said that the commissioner urged residents to remain law-abiding, vigilant, and promptly report suspected criminals and their activities to the nearest police station.
“Alternatively, they may call the command’s emergency hotlines 08032003702 or 08086671202, and the Enugu State Command-and-Control Centre on 112, 09134666668, or 09134448093,” he added.
