Police nab suspected armed robber in Akwa Ibom

The police command in Akwa Ibom has announced the arrest of one suspected armed robber and the recovery of stolen items in the Mbiabam community of Ibiono Ibom LGA.
Timfon John, the command’s spokesman, disclosed this in a statement in Uyo on Wednesday.
“The police command in Akwa Ibom, in its continuous efforts in fighting crime, has recorded another significant breakthrough with the recovery of suspected stolen items in Ibiono Ibom local government area,” Ms John said.
She added that the suspect was arrested on Sunday.
The police spokesman stated that the following items were recovered from the suspect: four sets of drums, six guitars, 15 mixers, two equalizers, two amplifiers, eight gas cylinders, 25 speakers, two ovens, two gas coolers, three keyboards, and 11 stabilisers.
Others are one washing machine, five compact discs, one giant ceiling fan, five generators, two coils of DStv wires, one DELL laptop, nine desktop computer monitors, and 13 TV sets.
Also recovered were electric irons, one Sonic insect killer, two electric kettles, one motor battery, ten microphones, one DStv decoder, one Sony decoder, six DVD sets, two tomba drums, five standing fans, and two cymbals.
She called on individuals who had lost their properties to report to the Command Headquarters in Uyo, providing evidence of ownership to claim the items.
Ms John said that investigations were still ongoing to arrest the suspect’s accomplices, who were still at large.
