The arrests followed intelligence-led operations under the Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Bakori, according to the command’s spokesperson, Abdullahi Kiyawa.
Mr Kiyawa said on March 7, Anti-Car Theft Unit Operatives intercepted a stolen dark-blue Hyundai Elantra at Naibawa Flyover Bridge, arresting one Ibrahim Muhammad, 29 and Ahmed Sani, 32, adding that the vehicle was reported stolen in Abuja.
“On March 9, Abdulkarim Mamman, 30, was arrested with a stolen ash-coloured Honda Civic in Kano, and confessed to stealing it from Karkasara Quarters, Kano,” the spokesperson said
He further explained that one Yusuf Ali, 28, was arrested for stealing a silver Toyota Corolla from Jigawa, adding that a white Nissan Sunny was also recovered from a Kano parking lot.
