Police screening of constables for Rivers command begins March 9

The police command in Rivers says screening of applicants in the ongoing recruitment of 50,000 constables nationwide will begin on March 9 in the state.
The command’s spokesperson, Grace Iringe-Koko, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday in Port Harcourt.
President Bola Tinubu recently approved the recruitment of 50,000 police personnel to strengthen security operations across the country.
Ms Iringe-Koko said the exercise in the state would be conducted jointly by the command and the Police Service Commission (PSC).
According to her, the screening will involve physical and credential verification of applicants who successfully completed the online registration.
She stated, “The exercise will take place from March 9 to April 18 in Rivers.”
She urged applicants to check their application status on the official recruitment portal and print their invitation slips ahead of the screening.
Ms Iringe-Koko said candidates would be required to present relevant documents, including invitation slips, guarantor forms and academic credentials at the venue.
She added that applicants must also provide proof of identification, such as National Identification Number (NIN) printouts or a National Identity Card issued by NIMC.
According to her, the screening will be held at the Alfred Diete-Spiff Civic Centre on Moscow Road in Port Harcourt.
“Applicants are advised to appear in white T-shirts, white shorts, white canvas shoes and white socks as specified for the exercise.”
The police spokesperson assured that the recruitment process would strictly follow the provisions of the Police Act and regulations.
Ms Iringe-Koko also emphasised that the exercise is free and warned applicants against paying money to anyone.
She urged candidates to conduct themselves in an orderly manner throughout the screening process.
