Commissioner of Police in Lagos, Abiodun Alabi, vowed to prosecute hoteliers allowing cultists to use their facilities to celebrate 7/7 Black Axe Day slated Thursday.

“Hoteliers are by this release warned not to allow their facilities to be used for any cult-related gathering as owners of such facilities will be liable to prosecutions,” he said.

In a statement by Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the Police Command in the state, Mr Alabi warned cultists to steer clear of the state.

“Credible intelligence at the disposal of the Command reveals that some hoodlums and cultists have perfected plans to celebrate what they call “7/7 Neo Black Movement of Africa aka Black Axe Day” on Thursday, July 7, 2022.

“In view of this, we in a very strong terms warn these groups with the intent to scuttle the peace being enjoyed in the state to shelve their plans,” he said.

Mr Alabi said the command was prepared to arrest organisers, leaders and progenitors of such sinister groups who intend to cause violence in the state.

“The command’s tactical teams, Area Commanders and DPOs in collaboration with other sister agencies are fully prepared to clamp down heavily on any group whose aim is to cause wanton violence in the state,” the CP stated.

He appealed to parents to warn their children to avoid unlawfully gathering or society.

The police boss urged residents of the state to be law-abiding, vigilant and go about their lawful duties without fear of harassment or intimidation.
