Portable wins a celebrity boxing match against actor Charles Okocha

Nigerian street rapper Habeeb Okikiola popularly known as Portable wins a controversial boxing match against actor Charles Okocha.

Portable had accused Okocha of ripping him off in a business transaction they did. The match was held at Landmark Beach in Lagos. It comprised four rounds and during the fourth round, Portable punched Charles roughly which caused the referee to end the fight. After the judges collated the points, Portable was declared winner of the boxing match.

Davido’s ‘Unavailable,’ Asake’s ‘Amapiano,’ Burna Boy’s ‘Sittin’ on Top of the World’ make Obama’s favourite songs of 2023

Former American President Barack Obama unveiled his annual favourite songs, with hit songs by Nigerian singers Davido, Asake and Burna Boy making the 2023 list. He unveiled the list of his favourite songs via his X handle on Friday, Obama posted a picture of his most enjoyed songs, captioning it, “Here are some of my favourite songs from this year.”

Some of his favourite songs were Davido’s ‘Unavailable,’ Asake’s ‘Amapiano,’ and Burna Boy’s ‘Sittin’ on Top of the World.’ The list also included songs like Beyoncé’s “America Has a Problem,” featuring Kendrick Lamar, and tracks by Allison Russell, Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit, and Megan Thee Stallion.

Nollywood actress Kate Henshaw, revealed in an interview with TV host, Chude Jideonwo, that she is not a fan of Davido due to an incident where he disrespected her at an event by not exchanging pleasantries.

She said, “Well I’m not a fan. I like his music but personally I don’t know him. I have met him and he didn’t greet me.”

Despite acknowledging his contributions to Nigeria, she emphasised the importance of him being more respectful.

A Tribe Called Judah Becomes Highest – Grossing Nollywood Movie In 2023

Actress Funke Akindele’s recent movie, ‘A Tribe Called Judah,’ has secured the top spot as the highest-grossing film in the Nigerian box office of 2023. Achieving this milestone in just 12 days, the comedy drama has garnered a minimum of 400 million in box office earnings. 

FilmOne Entertainment shared on Instagram, congratulating Funke Akindele for achieving the number one position in Nigeria and West Africa. Ms Akindele thanked the entire team and described her accomplishment as “an ultimate cinematic triumph of 2023.”

A Tribe Called Judah aims to gross a billion naira in Nigerian cinemas by January 2024. Released on December 15 and produced by Funke Akindele, the film features a star-studded cast, including Jidekene Achufusi and Nse Ikpe-Etim.
