The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) says it has restored bulk electricity supply to several areas in Abuja following an outage that lasted more than 40 hours.

In a statement on Thursday, TCN said that power was restored on Thursday at about 4:16 p.m.

“The outage had occurred at 12:24 a.m. on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, following the tripping of 33kV feeder L36. However, restoration was delayed due to a faulty line circuit breaker,” TCN said.

It said supply was restored after feeder L36 was successfully connected to feeder L34, restoring bulk electricity supply to load centres served by the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC).

The affected areas include Daba Estate, Police Barracks, Kuchigoro Community, Veritas Plastic Company, Idu, Paipe Village, Hala Rice Company, Rico Godo Feed Max Company, Chessboard Estate and Chinese Stone in the Saburi area.

The company said bulk power was now available for AEDC to distribute to customers in the affected communities.
