Procurement bureau to host orientation for 97 newly deployed officers

The Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP) is set to organise an online orientation workshop for the recently deployed 97 procurement officers on grade levels 15-17 to ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs).
In a statement on Monday, BPP’s spokesperson, Zira Nagga, said the deployment was in line with the directive of President Bola Tinubu in a May 13, 2025, circular directing the reversion of mobility of procurement officers to BPP.
“This deployment is also a sequel to the directive of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) dated December 9, 2025.
“It pertains to the implementation of the presidential directive, which reverted the mobility and career management of procurement officers to the BPP,” Mr Nagga said.
He said the online workshop, scheduled for March 31, was at the instance of the BPP director-general Adebowale Adedokun, who would be presiding over the programme.
Mr Nagga said the orientation was part of efforts to enhance the capacity of the affected officers on effective procurement processes.
He said attendance was mandatory for all the officers.
