PSC deploys new CPs for Plateau, three other states

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has approved the deployment of new Commissioners of Police (CPs) to the Plateau, Enugu, Nasarawa and Ondo State police commands.
Torty Kalu, the head of protocol and public relations of the PSC, said this in a statement on Thursday in Abuja.
He said the deployment followed a series of interviews conducted to ascertain the fitness and suitability of the CPs to undertake the responsibilities of their new offices.
Mr Kalu said the newly deployed CPs were Sunday Okoebor for Plateau, Fidelis Ogarabe for Enugu State, Sheikh Danko for Nasarawa State, and Johnson Babalola for Ondo State.
He said the chairman of the Commission, Hashimu Argungu, represented by Justice Paul Galumje, a member of the PSC Board, had affirmed the postings.
Mr Argungu said the postings were in line with the provisions of Section 215(1)(b) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
He said the provision empowered the Commission to appoint CPs for each state of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory.
According to him, the interviews established that the CPs were worthy in learning and character for their new duty posts.
He, therefore, urged the senior officers to be impartial and live up to the expectations of their new offices.
