PSG give Al-Hilal permission to negotiate with Mbappe after accepting record €300 million bid

French Ligue 1 club, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), have accepted a record €300 million bid from Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal to sign forward Kylian Mbappe on a one-year contract, Peoples Gazette understands.
This follows the player’s refusal to pen a new contract with the French outfit, who are prepared to sell him for a fee rather than lose him for free. Mbappe’s current contract runs out next summer, allowing the player to leave for free.
At the moment, there is no indication from the player’s camp that Mbappe, whose ultimate priority is Real Madrid, is open to a move to the Middle East. Although Al-Hilal is now free to discuss with Mbappe, no negotiation has taken place.
Al-Hilal is prepared to offer the World Cup winner a record salary to sign a one-year contract with the club and then join Real Madrid next summer. But the club will provide an option for extension in case the player changes his mind.
Mbappe and PSG have been at loggerheads over his future at the Parc des Princes after the player informed the club hierarchy that he is not prepared to extend his contract but is committed to seeing out his current contract.
Consequently, PSG gave him a deadline of July 15th to decide whether he was going to extend his contract or be prepared to be sold in the ongoing transfer window.
However, there was no response from the player, who is determined to exhaust his contract, which will make him a free agent next season. PSG, on Saturday, dropped Mbappe from their pre-season squad to Japan and immediately put him up for sale as the club is not ready to lose him for free.
Meanwhile, he has been made to train with players considered “out of project” by the club.
Reports said PSG are convinced that the player already has an agreement with Real Madrid to sign for free next summer – it is reported that he will receive €106 million in sign-on fee.
