Psychiatric hospital seeks security cover from police

The management of the Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital (FNPH) Kware in Sokoto has solicited the support of police in ensuring improved security within the hospital and environs.
Shehu Sale, the hospital’s medical director, made the call on Thursday when a team of policemen from the police area command Sokoto Metro visited the hospital.
Mr Sale said security was paramount to peaceful coexistence and allowed human beings to conduct their businesses freely without interference. He said the hospital provided services to citizens round the clock and needed a conducive atmosphere for personnel to perform better.
The medical director assured the police of the hospital’s commitment to supporting them to achieve their mandate of safeguarding lives and property.
Responding, the leader of the delegation, DCP James Nwokolo, expressed appreciation for the quality of services and facilities within the hospital.
Mr Owokolo of the police operations department said the visit was part of their efforts to obtain direct information from individuals, institutions and organisations on security issues, challenges and others.
Other officers on the entourage included CSP Ghali Nakamba and DSP Kabir Alaya.
The meeting resolved the commitment of the police to support the management by providing a safe environment for patients and staff and reinforcing the security apparatus in the
hospital.
