Public warned about fake social media profile of new NCCC boss Majekodunmi

The Nigeria Climate Change Council has warned the public against falling victim to a fake LinkedIn account impersonating its newly appointed director-general, Omotenioye Majekodunmi.
The impersonation alert was issued in a statement.
“It came to the attention of the NCCC that a fake LinkedIn profile was created for the newly appointed director-general,” the statement said. “Mrs Majekodunmi has not updated her LinkedIn profile.”
“Please disregard any connection requests from the unverified handle shown below,” the statement added, referencing the fake account that appeared to have already had the title director-general at the National Council on Climate Change Secretariat attached to the profile.
Ms Majekodunmi was appointed head of the climate change council in late July by President Bola Tinubu following the dismissal of Nkiruka Madueke from the position.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Mrs. Omotenioye Majekodunmi as the new director-general of the National Council on Climate Change (NCCC),” the president’s spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, said in a statement announcing the decision.
