APC chairman in Alimosho Local Government Area of  Lagos, Tosin Fatoki, has urged members to be committed to its upcoming membership registration.

Mr Fatoki gave the advice on Friday at  the APC  local government area meeting held at  the Abati Primary School, Akowonjo.

According to him, the membership registration is in response to the observed difference in the number of party members and number of votes recorded during the last general elections in the area.

The party chairman said that many of the members do not have the Permanent Voters Card (PVC) and as a result, it had become  mandatory for them to show their PVC  before membership registration/ validation.

Sunday Aboyade, the APC vice chairman, Lagos-West Senatorial district, in his remarks, appreciated the unity amongst  caucuses in the party in  Alimosho.

He said the unity remained a great step toward the return of Alimosho to the old winning days.

Mr Aboyade, however, advised stakeholders  in the area to set up a  committee, if need be, to address matters that could make any party member to be aggrieved.

Idowu Anjola, assistant welfare officer  of APC in Lagos state, also lauded the members for their unity.

According to him, the party is  waiting for election guidelines from  the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission, which it  would build on.

Mr Anjola added that the membership registration was to ensure that party members are eligible to vote.

He said that only the PVC would determine those who could vote in the council poll.

“The Lagos APC  is working very hard to redefine her rewarding system so that hard working members won’t be left unrewarded,” he added.

According to him, the number of political office holders from Alimosho in the state is a representation of the efforts of members in the last general elections.
