Quadruple amputee fatally shoots colleagues, drives away with body over argument
Dayton Webber, an American man with no arms and legs, faces several murder charges after police arrested him for shooting and killing his acquaintance, Bradrick Wells, following an argument.
According to reports, the alleged murder occurred on Sunday night during a joyride in Maryland involving Mr. Webber and three friends when an argument broke out. This resulted in the suspect shooting Mr Wells, who was sitting in the front passenger seat.
The shooting left the two other occupants in the back seats in shock, and they reportedly refused Mr Webber’s request to help drag Mr Wells’ body out of the car before scrambling out after the suspect had stopped.
Mr Webber, a professional cornhole player, then allegedly drove away with the victim’s remains still in his car after their refusal, prompting the Charles County Sheriff’s Office to launch a manhunt.
The victim’s body was found two hours later in a yard on Newport Church Road in Charlotte Hall following a resident’s tip. Police officers arrested Mr Webber at a hospital in Charlottesville, Virginia, where he was seeking medical treatment.
Mr Webber was charged as a fugitive from justice. He is currently awaiting extradition back to Maryland, where he will be charged with first-degree murder, second-degree murder and other related offences.
Mr Webber lost his lower arms and legs to a bacterial infection when he was 10 months old. He is the first quadruple amputee in American Cornhole League history.
Despite his condition, trending videos on social media have shown Mr Webber firing a gun.
“The ACL is aware of the reports regarding allegations involving Dayton Webber. This is an extremely serious matter and our thoughts are with all those impacted, including the family and loved ones of Bradrick Michael Wells.
“At this time, this remains an active legal situation. We respect the judicial process and will not comment on specific allegations or details while proceedings are ongoing,” the American Cornhole League said in a statement on Sunday.
