Radda embarks on tour of Katsina LGAs to bolster grassroots development

Governor Dikko Radda of Katsina State has commenced a tour of local government areas to assess development projects provided by the state and the local councils at the grassroots.
During the tour, the governor interacted with stakeholders to execute more people-oriented projects at the grassroots level.
The governor used the opportunity to launch development and empowerment programmes executed by some of the local councils.
While in Danja, Mr Radda explained that his administration had achieved tremendous results in security, education, healthcare, agriculture, and other key sectors of his “Building Your Future” agenda.
The governor also appreciated the local councils for executing development projects for the people at the grassroots level.
He attributed the achievements of the local councils to the timely and adequate release of funds that enabled them to execute people-oriented projects and programmes.
The governor used the opportunity to inspect the ongoing hydropower project at Danja Dam, being constructed by his administration to generate electricity and boost irrigation.
While in Sabuwa, Mr Radda announced the award of a contract for 27.6 kilometres of roads worth N18.5 billion from Sabuwa-Tashar Bawa-Rafin Lowa.
The project, awarded to Fullman Limited, with an 18-month completion period, would connect about 50 agrarian communities to improve market access.
In Funtua, the governor said the federal government had upgraded Funtua General Hospital to a federal teaching hospital to boost healthcare services.
He also inspected the newly established Mobile Police Force, set up to check insecurity in the Funtua axis.
In all the LGAs visited, the governor launched empowerment programmes for the less privileged.
