Ramadan: JNI urges Muslims to intensify prayers to end ‘misfortune’, hardship in Nigeria

The Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) has called on Muslims to intensify prayers against all manners of misfortunes, security and economic challenges bedevilling the nation.
The JNI’s secretary-general, Khalid Aliyu, made the appeal in a statement issued on Friday in Kaduna.
“The JNI reiterates its call for prayers for the Muslim Ummah, seeking relief from misfortunes, security challenges and economic hardship,” he said.
Mr Aliyu also urged Muslims to intensify acts of worship in the last 10 days of Ramadan.
“As the holy month of Ramadan enters its final stretch, JNI is calling on Nigerian Muslims to maximise the last 10 days of fasting to seek the blessed night of Laylatul Qadr,” he said.
Mr Aliyu also urged the Muslims to increase their recitation and understanding of the Quran and engage in more acts of worship.
He also reminded the Muslims of the importance of Zakatul-Fitr (ordained almsgiving). He encouraged them to extend more almsgiving to the poor, orphans, and handicapped in society.
Mr Aliyu said JNI prayed for Allah’s acceptance of the Muslims’ Ramadan fasting while urging them not to return to sinful acts after Ramadan.
“Ramadan Mubarak and happy ‘Eid-el-Fitr in advance. May Almighty Allah, the most high, accept all our respective acts of worship. Amin,” Mr Aliyu prayed.
According to him, JNI encourages Muslims to make the most of this sacred time and strive for spiritual growth and development.
