Remi Tinubu distributes 1,000 bags of rice to Kwara widows, indigents

Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, on Tuesday in Ilorin, distributed 1,000 bags of rice to widows and indigent people across the 16 local government areas of Kwara.
The gesture is part of the end-of-year activities organised by the first lady to distribute food items to the indigents.
Mrs Tinubu, who was represented at the event by David Ifabiyi, the national officer of the Christian Northern Nigeria Progressive Forum (CNNPF), said the food distribution was for members, comprising 19 northern states and the FCT.
According to him, the first lady is the grand matron of the organisation, and the distribution of the foodstuffs had commenced earlier in Kaduna State.
“In the spirit of Christmas, Tinubu is putting smiles on the faces of widows, the less privileged, Christian bodies, and other religious adherents,” he said.
According to Mr Ifabiyi, the first lady has ensured that every religious adherent, including Muslims, Christians, and traditional religion worshippers, benefits from the food distribution.
He thanked Mrs Tinubu for the gesture, urging the masses to support the federal government’s initiative under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu to revamp the nation’s economy.
Also speaking, Victor Abioye, the Kwara State coordinator of CNNPF, commended Mr Tinubu’s policies, adding that they might be difficult at the beginning but will subsequently be beneficial for the country.
In their remarks, some beneficiaries, Babarinde Abiodun and Beatrice Oladimeji, commended the first lady for the kind gesture.
They prayed for the success of the present administration, adding that the first lady has consistently reached out to them every year to put smiles on their faces.
