Remo Stars thrash Smart City to win 2022 ValueJet tournament

Remo Stars are the champions of the 2022 ValueJet pre-season tournament after defeating Smart City in the final of the eight-team competition on Thursday evening.
The Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) club dominated the match from the first minute of the encounter with the Nigeria National League (NNL) outfit.
Remo Stars were rewarded when Adams Olamilekan fired a rebound into the net to put the club ahead in the 31st minute. Salawadeen Ismail doubled the lead four minutes later.
Remo Stars went into halftime with a two goals advantage.
Olamilekan got his brace in the 61st minute of the match, however, Remo Stars were unable to add to their lead, walking away with a 3-0 victory.
The ValueJet Cup served as a preparatory tournament for Remo Stars, who are set to begin their journey on the continental stage when the first preliminary round of the 2022 CAF Confederation Cup starts next week.
