The House of Representatives on Monday passed a bill to repeal and enact the 2025 Appropriation Act, and extend the implementation of the capital component of the Act from June 30 to September 30.

The development followed the presentation of an amendment bill by the leader of the house, Julius Ihonvbere (APC-Edo), at an emergency plenary in Abuja.

In his lead debate, Mr Ihonvbere urged members to support the passage of the bill to enable the government to complete ongoing projects nationwide.

After accelerated consideration, the House unanimously voted to pass the bill for first, second, and third readings.

Speaker Abbas Tajudeen, in his ruling, adopted the amended bill as the working document of the House.

The bill, in concurrence with the Senate, will be sent to the president for his assent.
