The Catholic Diocese of Zaria, on Wednesday, announced the abduction of one of its priests, Reverend Father Emmanuel Ezema.

The chancellor of Zaria Diocese, Reverend Father Isek Augustine, confirmed the incident in a letter addressed to all priests and faithful.

According to the diocese chancellor, Mr Ezema was kidnapped at his residence, situated at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Rumi, on Tuesday, December 2 at around 11:30 p.m.

The chancellor stated, “We call on all men and women of goodwill to pray for the safe and quick release of our Priest and others from the hands of their abductors.”

“Through the intercession of our Lady, the Mother of all Priests, and our mother, may our brother, and others return to us safe and sound.”

Efforts, including calls and text messages, to obtain comments from the Kaduna State police command on the incident went unanswered.
