‘Rocky Horror’ actor Tim Curry dies at 80

The actor passed away on Tuesday evening at his residence in Los Angeles.

England-born actor Tim Curry has died at the age of 80.

Curry is popularly remembered for his iconic role as Dr Frank-N-Furter in “The Rocky Horror Picture Show”, a British musical comedy-horror film.

The actor, who reportedly had been battling with a decade-long illness, passed away on Tuesday evening at his residence in Los Angeles.

The late actor, who began his career in the 1960s, featured in movies including the 1990 adaptation of Stephen King’s ‘t’and ‘Home Alone 2: Lost in New York.’

He also played roles in ‘Annie,’ ‘Clue,’ ‘The Hunt for Red October,’ ‘Muppet Treasure Island,’ ‘Addams Family Reunion,’ and ‘Scary Movie 2.’

He was a recipient of three Antoinette Perry Award for Excellence in Broadway Theatre and had an Emmy Award nomination.

The actor had a stroke in 2012 and underwent a brain surgery.
