Ronaldo’s Portugal, Netherlands crash out of Euro2020; Belgium, Czech qualify for quarter finals

Defending Champions Portugal and Netherlands both crashed out of the ongoing Euro2020 in the round of 16 on Sunday, while Belgium and Czech Republic both advanced to the quarter finals.
Belgium got a slim 1-0 win over Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal courtesy of a goal from Thorgan Hazard in the 42nd minute of the game.
Portugal had more possession but could not break through Belgium defence or put the ball behind Courtois who made brilliant saves for the Red Devils.
Belgium will face Italy in the quarter final scheduled to hold in Munich on Friday.
Meanwhile, earlier on Sunday, Netherlands were knocked out after suffering a 2-0 defeat to Czech Republic.
Both teams went goalless in the first half. However, Netherlands lost control of the game the moment they were reduced to 10 men after defender Matthijs de Ligt was sent off the pitch for a deliberate handball in the 55th minute.
Tomas Holes gave Czech the lead in the 68th minute of the game, while Patrik Schick doubled the lead for Czech in the 80th minute.
Czech, for the fourth time in seven European Championship, has booked their place in the quarter-finals and will be playing against Denmark.
