Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have intercepted a Volkswagen bus containing stolen bags of flour and sugar.
The command’s Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, disclosed this on his official X handle on Sunday.
According to Mr Hundeyin, the suspects abandoned the vehicle on sighting the police patrol team, adding that investigation revealed that the goods were stolen from a shop burgled in Iba area of the state.
He wrote, “Patrol officers from Elere Division stopped a Volkswagen bus containing bags of flour and sugar at about 3:40am. Upon sighting the police, the occupants abandoned the vehicle and fled. Investigation revealed that the goods were stolen from a burgled shop in Iba.’’
He stated that the stolen goods had been handed over to the owner and the vehicle in police custody.
