Moscow has placed Bellingcat’s senior investigative journalist, Christo Grozev, on a wanted list for undisclosed crime following his critical converge of Russia’s ongoing war in Ukraine.

The Federal Security Service (FSB) had accused Mr Grozev of helping Ukraine’s intelligence in his analysis of Russia’s warfare tactics and operations, using open-source resources and materials available on social media.

Bellingcat was one of four news agencies designated by Russia as foreign agents in 2021, forcing the agency into burdensome financial reporting requirements.

Bellingcat was further branded as an undesirable organisation in July, with Moscow claiming that the agency posed security threats to the country.
