Russia suspends work of its NATO representation over allegations of espionage

Russia’s NATO delegation was halved from 20 to 10 for their suspected espionage activities.

In response to the revoked accreditation for its diplomats, Russia will suspend the work of its permanent representation to NATO in Brussels from the beginning of November.

According to Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov speaking on Monday, the work of the NATO Information Office in Moscow will also be suspended.

NATO withdrew the accreditation of eight Russian diplomats in Brussels on October 6 because they were undeclared intelligence officers.

NATO also said at the time that the maximum staff levels of we Moscow’s NATO delegation would be halved from 20 to 10 due to their suspected espionage activities.
