Sallah: Atiku, Akpabio, Sanwo-Olu, Kalu, others felicitate Muslims
Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and other politicians have felicitated Muslims as they celebrate Eid-el-Kabir, urging them to pray for Nigeria.
Mr Atiku, in a message on his Twitter page on Tuesday morning, said, “I congratulate Muslims in Nigeria and across the world on this year’s celebration of the Eid-el-Kabir festival. Nigeria is currently in need of prayers. We must continue to ask God Almighty to show His blessings upon the country and elevate Nigeria to a path of peace, harmony, and prosperity.”
Also, Mr Akpabio, in a tweet, said, “Today, I join the Muslim Ummah and Nigerians in general, to celebrate this year’s sallah festival. I felicitate our President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR and Vice-President Kashim Shettima GCON, as they celebrate their first Eid-el-Kabir as President and vice president, Kashim Shettima.”
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu felicitated “our Muslim brothers and sisters in the state and Nigeria a happy Eid-el-Kabir, which comes with significant lessons for mankind.”
Mr Sanwo-Olu added, “As we celebrate Eid-el-Kabir today, I urge Lagosians and Nigerians to continue on the path of spirituality and peaceful coexistence.”
Governor Caleb Mutfwang said in a tweet on Tuesday extended his “warmest greetings and heartfelt wishes to each and every one of you. May this auspicious festival bring you abundant blessings, happiness, and prosperity.”
Similarly, former Governor Gbenga Daniel urged Muslims to “emulate the dedication of the Prophet, especially as it concerns our country.”
“Eid Ul Adha is not just a celebration of pomp and pageantry with plenty of meat, rice and stew, it speaks to the significance of sacrifice and trust in the directive of Almighty Allah,” stated the senator.
