Sallah forces NLO to reschedule replay fixture

The Nationwide League One (NLO) has approved the rescheduling of a replay fixture involving Kano Ambassadors FC and Musa Musa FC following requests linked to the Eid El-Fitr celebration.
The decision was contained in a letter dated May 25, addressed to the Kano State Football Association, FCT Football Association, and Katsina State Football Association.
The letter stated that the affected clubs earlier requested the replay match initially scheduled for May 26 to be shifted because it coincided with the Eid El-Fitr festivities.
The league body stated that it considered the request in recognition of the religious and cultural obligations of clubs, players, and officials participating in the competition.
The letter stated, “The Nationwide League One highly respects the religious and cultural commitments of our member clubs, players, and officials.
“In the spirit of fairness, inclusivity, and ensuring optimal performance on the pitch, management has reviewed and approved your request.”
The NLO subsequently announced that the replay fixture would now hold on June 3, at the Bwari Stadium in Abuja, while the kickoff time remains 10 a.m.
The league body added that the opposing teams, match officials, and stadium management had been notified of the development to ensure smooth coordination of the fixture.
It also directed both teams to arrive for the match with exactly 20 players and five officials.
The letter further wished the clubs and their supporters a peaceful Eid El-Fitr celebration and commended their commitment to grassroots football development.
The letter was signed by the League Manager of the NLO, Temitayo Egbaiyelo.
The NLO is Nigeria’s largest grassroots football league and serves as a platform for talent discovery and football development across the country.
