Samba Boys of Brazil dance into quarterfinals in scintillating fashion; face Croatia for semifinal spot

The Samba Boys of Brazil have progressed to the quarterfinals of the 2022 FIFA World Cup following a dominant performance in a 4-1 win over Republic of Korea in the round of 16 fixture at the Stadium 974 on Monday night.
Thanks to the scintillating victory five-time champions Brazil booked a FIFA World Cup quarterfinal clash against Croatia, who were the runners up in the last edition of the tournament in Russia.
Croatia defeated Japan 1-0 in a dramatic penalty shootout after both the regulation time and extra time ended in a one-all draw in the other round of 16 fixture earlier today.
In tonight’s encounter, Vinicius Junior opened the scoring for Brazil inside the first ten minutes of the game before Neymar, who returned to the squad following an injury, doubled the lead from a spot-kick in the 13th minute.
Richarlison extended his tournament’s goal tally to three just before the half hour mark before West Ham United forward Lucas Paquetá made it four-nil up just before the halftime whistle.
However, Seung-Ho Hwang scored a thunderous shot to net the only goal in the second half, serving as a consolation for Koreans but the Samba Boys clinched the well-deserved win, further sending a clear message to the remaining teams in the competition.
Brazil will face Croatia for a place in the semifinals on Friday, December 9, at the Education City Stadium as they continue their quest for glory in the tournament they last won in 2002.
