Sanwo-Olu congratulates Hamzat on winning APC governorship ticket

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has congratulated his deputy, Obafemi Hamzat, on emerging as the 2027 governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress.
Sanwo-Olu conveyed the congratulatory message in a statement after Hamzat was declared the winner of the party’s direct primary election held across Lagos on Thursday.
The governor said the large turnout of party faithful at various polling centres reflected the confidence reposed in Hamzat to consolidate the achievements of the current administration.
He also commended party members for their loyalty, solidarity, and orderly conduct throughout the primary election process.
Mr Sanwo-Olu urged party members not to relent in their commitment, noting that more work lay ahead in preparation for the 2027 general elections.
“On behalf of my family, I congratulate Dr Kadri Obafemi Hamzat on his emergence as the standard bearer of our great party, the All Progressives Congress, in next year’s gubernatorial election in Lagos.
“It is my belief that your personal vision for the continuous growth and development of our state will be for the benefit of all,” the governor said.
