Sanwo-Olu tasks new permanent secretaries on public service innovation

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, on Friday, swore in 10 newly appointed permanent secretaries, charging them to uphold integrity, accountability, and innovation in public service.
The governor, who spoke at the Banquet Hall, Lagos House, Ikeja, said the appointees were chosen for their competence and record of service, adding that their elevation marked another step toward strengthening governance in the state.
He urged them to align their work with the THEMES Plus developmental agenda of the state, which focuses on transportation, health, education, technology, and sustainable growth.
“Your new roles come with higher expectations. The state counts on you to translate our shared vision into measurable results.
“Teamwork, openness, and people-centred leadership should be your hallmark; this is a call to service,” he told the permanent secretaries.
He noted that effective governance required collective responsibility and urged the new appointees to engage their teams and the public with mutual respect and transparency.
The governor announced the redeployment of several senior officials as part of efforts to ensure optimal service delivery.
He said Molulu Odufemi Otuolani had been deployed to Health District Six, while Soni Omotayo Nayedi would now serve as tutor-general and permanent secretary for Education District II.
Others are Monsurat Alaka, posted to the Office of Internal Audit; Muhammed Abatuli, to the Office of Infrastructure; Olawale Ojikutu, to the Teaching Service Commission; and Olufemi Paseda, to Education District Four.
Also redeployed were Oluwakemi Garberdin-Adedeji to the Audit Service Commission, Ayodele Ayantola to Health District 1, and Toyin Ogunlana to the Cabinet Office.
The governor further announced that Aina Olubenga would move from the Ministry of Commerce, Trade, and Investment to the Office of Transformation and Service Delivery, while Ashina Olawale would move from Education District Four to District Three.

Head of Service, Bode Agoro, said the latest appointments were part of a deliberate plan to rejuvenate the civil service and enhance administrative efficiency.
“I call you the set of permanent secretaries, the G10. This is a call to service; be innovative,” he said.
